Ember Hosts Fundraising Lunch for Homeless Women

Ember restaurant is hosting a fundraiser luncheon on May 26th, to raise funds for the Women's Circle at Byron’s homeless hub Fletcher Street Cottage. The Women's Circle provides a safe space for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and other related issues.

The Ember Fundraising Luncheon will include a two-course meal specially prepared by Ember's experienced chefs, featuring locally sourced ingredients. There will also be speakers and a raffle with exciting prizes donated by local businesses. Half of the proceeds from the event will go towards supporting homeless women.

"We are proud to support the Women's Circle at Fletcher Street Cottage," says Ember's owner, Troy Lister. "We believe that everyone deserves a safe and supportive community, and we want to do our part in making that a reality. We invite everyone to join us for this special event and help us make a difference in the lives of women who are experiencing homelessness and other challenges."

Fletcher Street Cottage provides a welcoming and supportive environment for women to come together, share their experiences and access services. The weekly Women’s Circle offers afternoon tea, art activities and connection with other women, as well as access to services such as counselling, housing support and medical care.

"We are grateful for the support of Ember, the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce and the community," says Fletcher Street Cottage Manager, Lindy Swain. "The Women's Circle is a vital program for women experiencing housing insecurity, and every dollar raised will go towards providing more opportunities for women to connect, grow and get support. We hope to see many people at the fundraiser lunch and look forward to a successful event."

Tickets for the fundraiser lunch are available for purchase on the Byron Community Centre website. Donations can also be made online for those unable to attend. Join us in supporting the Women's Circle and making a difference in the lives of women facing housing insecurity in the Northern Rivers.
