Leonards Slippers Present a Night of Funk, Rock and Soulful Groove

Get your dancing feet ready to get into Leonards Slippers - with a night of funk, rock and soulful grooves this September 30th at Coorabell Hall. A delightful feast for your ears is a given as Leonards Slippers presents their debut showcase of original fresh music finessed throughout the Covid downtime.

Magic happens when philosophical poet and guitarist Scot Free and 21-year-old musical and visual arts virtuoso Wren Brown (mainly on keys) meet musically. They are excited to bring their work live to audiences with the support of the creatively versatile Rowan James on drums. Scot Free says that during their creative process they’ve imagined that he is trying to lay down a base of Escher for Wren to Salvador Dali over.

Scot Free is a founder of local arts initiative ArtWomb and connected with Wren in 2018 at their Lismore Lantern Parade event in the Back Alley Gallery. Wren then undertook a mentorship with ArtWomb and they continued to build their creative dynamic through many events across the region. The disappearance of live music throughout Covid ended up giving them space to develop as an act with an authentic and superb sound that will move both your mind and your feet.

Kicking off at 6pm the night will feature special guests including set from three piece Kaminski 4 Mayor, described as “post-punk with hooks that will refresh your ears, quell your fears, bring you to tears.” Plus a special feature of music and fire from the magical reggae, dubb, gypsy jazz queen that is Rosie MissChief.

A showcase of visual art produced by Wren Brown will also feature and vegetarian curry, chai and cakes will be available.

Tickets are $25 (+bf) online with the booking link available at www.leonardslippers.com or $30 at the door with kids under 15 free.
