The Byron Community Hub, together with the Byron Community Centre, are holding a fundraiser on Wednesday, 10 March to give women the opportunity to share insights and talk openly about menopause.

Let’s Talk Menopause will be hosted by Mandy Nolan, who will be in conversation with Dr Jane Reffell, a General Practitioner who specialises in women’s health, Michelle Loschiavo, a senior Compounding Pharmacist and Muriele Tesauri, the founder of Wholesome Lives.

These four women bring their expertise about menopause from various angles and will share their knowledge about how women can prepare themselves physically, emotionally, mentally, and also spiritually, for the menopause journey.

Menopause is a time of transition and change that affects every woman differently. As our hormone levels change, we move from the reproductive phase of our lives to the next phase of our lives, often called the productive phase.

“Understanding what is happening to us and managing the symptoms that impact on our quality of life is both important and empowering and enables us to move through this period of change gracefully,” says Jane.

Each woman will experience different physical and emotional symptoms, and of differing intensity and duration.

“Every woman’s experience during this transition varies and it is important to have the knowledge to understand and make choices. Knowledge is power and as women we must also trust in our inner wisdom,” says Michelle.

Let’s Talk Menopause is the first in a series of informed conversations held by The Community Hub, in collaboration with the Community Centre, to connect, inform and inspire local women.

“We are excited about the opportunity to present Let’s Talk Menopause together with the Byron Community Centre,” says Sabine Muschter, founder of The Community Hub.

Proceeds from Let’s Talk Menopause will go to the Feel Good Fridays project run by the Community Centre, a weekly opportunity for disadvantaged women to access support and improve wellbeing.

The Byron Theatre is proudly sponsoring this fundraiser, which will take place on Wednesday, 10 March from 5pm – 7pm, with tickets available online at byrontheatre.com.
