Queer Family: Pride Month Bonanza
It's June! It's Pride Month! It's time for Queer Family's Pride Month Bonanza!
Queer Family is thrilled to announce an exciting line-up of events for their Pride Month Bonanza. Celebrating the spirit of Pride, these events are designed to bring the community together, foster connections, and create a safe and affirming space for all.
Queer Bookclub
Beginning the list of events is Queer Bookclub on Tuesday 13th June. Eager bookworms have already booked up all the spots for this month's meeting.
Bushwalking Club
For nature lovers and adventure seekers, the Bushwalking Club invites you to join them on Sunday 17th June, for the flat and picturesque 10.4km walk from Stokers Siding Station to Burringbar Station. The walk will conclude with a BBQ and picnic, providing an opportunity to enjoy beautiful Bundjalung Country while connecting with community.
The Young Queerios
The Young Queerios Hangs in Ballina and Mullum are continuing to create safe spaces for young people aged 12-24 to connect, have fun, and build community. These affirming environments offer a range of activities, including art, games, movies and good vibes. Join the hangouts at Ballina Library on Wednesday 7th and 21st June, from 5-6.30pm, and at Mullum’s Paddock Project on Wednesday, 14th and 28th June, from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.
As a grand finale, Young Queerios will be taking over Palace Cinema Byron. This event is open to all Queer and Questioning people aged 12-24, and their friends. Keep an eye on Queer Family’s socials to find out what they’ll be watching!
Tweed Diversity Walk
Save the date for the Tweed Diversity Walk on Saturday 1st July. Hosted by headspace Tweed Heads, this inclusive event welcomes LGBTQIA+ young people aged 12-25, along with their friends, families, and supporters. Queer Family will be organizing a shuttle to bring local Young Queerios to join the walk. Get in touch for more information.
Queer Family extends their heartfelt gratitude to their dedicated staff and volunteers, as well as the NSW Government, ACON, Stone & Wood, Euphoria Byron, and FRRR for their invaluable support. It is through their generosity that Queer Family can offer these events and services either free or at low cost to the community.
