Winter Holiday Fun at Byron Community Market
With the winter school holidays upon us, the Byron Community Market is set to transform Byron’s Town Centre into a bustling hub of creativity and entertainment this Sunday 7th July, from 8am to 2pm.
This weekend, the markets will include live performances by local favourites the Versace Boys, Lttle King and Mark Easton, who will set the stage for a day filled with tantalising tunes to shop or sink into.
"The Byron Community Market celebrates our local talent and creativity," says Natwah Petruszka, Community Market Coordinator. "This Sunday's market is shaping up to be a fantastic day out for the whole family. With live music, engaging activities for kids and a wide variety of unique products, there’s something for everyone. We’re excited to welcome everyone to experience the best of what our community has to offer.”
Some of the activities families can look forward to include the mesmerising Bubble Fairy, who will be performing her enchanting bubble tricks roving around the market site. There is also the delightful Byron Bay TieDye workshop, where you can come and create your very own tie-dyed item on market day, a beloved craft activity held at the market for 20 years.
“We are known for our non-toxic colourfast tie dye kits, which are a fun, safe and easy way for kids to express their creativity,” says Crystal from Byron Bay TieDye. “We love seeing the vibrant creations our customers come up with.”
Sunday’s Byron Community Market is also proud to partner with local charities Sisters for Reconciliation (Northern Rivers) and the Cavanbah Reconciliation Group for this event. These organisations work tirelessly to foster stronger relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. Market-goers can learn more about their vital work and how to support these initiatives by visiting their volunteers stationed throughout the market.
“In addition to the creative fun and entertainment, the markets will feature an array of local stalls offering handmade crafts, fresh produce, delicious food and unique gifts,” adds Natwah. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to support local businesses and find one-of-a-kind items that reflect the spirit and creativity of Byron Bay.”
Join us this Sunday 7th July, from 8am to 2pm, for a magical winter holiday experience at the Byron Community Market. It's the perfect way to spend a Sunday immersed in the vibrant community spirit of Byron Bay.
