Fundraising Cabaret Gives Comfort and Hope to Tweed's Homeless Community this Winter

Dharma Care is excited to announce its Winter Warmer Homelessness Relief Campaign to provide essential support and comfort to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Tweed Shire during the cold winter months. Dharma Care is an Australian charity dedicated to creating life-changing opportunities for the destitute and disadvantaged. Their mission to facilitate lasting change, creating a ripple effect that benefits future generations.

The campaign will incorporate the first Winter Warmer Fundraising Cabaret at Kingscliff Bowls Club on Thursday 15 June. The event will bring the community together to enjoy some of the area’s best talent in support of this important cause: Mandy Nolan (MC and Comedian), The Space Cowboy (Artist and Performer) and Felicity Lawless & Ms Eleneous (Musicians).

Guests will enjoy a cabaret experience and can also purchase unique artwork, participate in a raffle or silent auction of a range of exclusive prizes. Generous donations from local businesses and community members will ensure that the auction showcases a wide selection of sought-after prizes, enticing guests to support the cause.

As temperatures drop and harsh weather conditions set in, Dharma Care recognises the challenges faced by individuals and families who struggle to stay warm and healthy. The Winter Warmer Campaign aims to raise at least $50K to ensure everyone who finds themselves in that situation has access to adequate shelter, warmth and nourishment through providing food, sleeping bags, hygiene packs and tents.

We are thrilled to host the Winter Warmer Fundraising Cabaret as part of our ongoing efforts to support those doing it tough. This event not only offers a memorable night of entertainment but also provides an opportunity for individuals to contribute to a meaningful cause.
— Irwan Wyllie, CEO of Dharma Care.

By donating to the campaign or by attending the Fundraising Cabaret, you will have a direct impact in supporting those in need to stay warm and safe during the winter season.

Winter can be an incredibly challenging time for those facing homelessness, and we believe it is our collective responsibility as a community to lend a helping hand. We encourage everyone in the community to join us in supporting this campaign.

Dharma Care will work with its local partners, You Have A Friend, Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre, Fred’s Place - Vinnies, and Murwillumbah Community Centre, to ensure the resources go to where they are most needed across the Tweed region.

Dharma Care invites individuals, corporations and community organisations to participate in the Winter Warmer – Homelessness Relief Campaign. Whether through tax-deductible donations, volunteer work, sponsorships or spreading awareness. Every contribution will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.
