Beloved Australian singer, ukulele strummer and drummer Bobby Alu is set to bring his signature feel-good energy to audiences with two exciting new tours to soundtrack both sunrises and sunsets across Australia.
Following the success of last year's brekky run across 60+ Australian and European cafes, Bobby hits the road again with coffee in hand for the Breakfast Tour, bringing 42 free morning shows to fans across NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, TAS, and WA. Swapping out his morning brew for an evening cocktail, Bobby changes gears in nine select locations along the way, unleashing his full, dynamic live experience in intimate venues in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his fan-favourite song 'My Style'.
Last year's innovative Breakfast Tour concept turned the live music model upside down and delighted industry and punters alike with the wholesome backing of a milk sponsor, all the while serving as an album pre-order campaign that saw Bobby's fourth studio album Keep It Tropical achieve #1 on AIR's Independent Label Albums chart, and #3 on ARIA's Australian Albums chart. Many coffee shops reported their best sales day of the year, with punters often overflowing into adjacent laneways and car parks.
Performing stripped-back solo sets alongside some of the best coffee and breakfast spreads in Australia, Bobby collaborates once more with Breakfast Shirts (aka Mark Crotti), the brekky connoisseur who made waves with his online following last year. He'll be capturing the entire journey again, bringing fans around the world along for the ride with daily highlights of their touring adventures sponsored by macamilk., Harris Farm Markets, Sanremo Coffee Machines, and CocoCoast.
A road dog at heart, always striving to step up or completely reimagine the creative experience, Bobby adds the night time element this year to roll out two tours concurrently. As the sun sets in nine Breakfast Tour locations across Australia, Bobby will switch gears into the ‘My Style’ Tour. In limited-capacity venues with his band of musical soul brothers in tow for most dates, these intimate performances will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Bobby’s beloved song ‘My Style’ from the Bay Sessions EP (2015).
Reflecting on ‘My Style’ and its decade-long journey, Bobby shares:
“I had no idea when I wrote My Style that it would be one of my most listened to songs! It’s always the most requested and the biggest sing-along moment at my shows. People ask me if I know why this is, and I think it’s because we all want to be comfortable in ourselves or to simply find ourselves.
That is the spirit of 'My Style'. It’s something I strive for, and I find it exciting to grow older and keep meeting the new me. Shedding old habits, finding new ones. It’s the quirks that I love in my friends and fam. Our essence is the very thing that our people love and miss about us. It’s what makes me, me and you, you. So here’s to moving through life on a quest to find - or to simply accept - who you are.”
The Breakfast Tour and ‘My Style’ Tour kick off another big year of international adventuring for Bobby Alu, with return visits to North America and Europe later in 2025.
