LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEe

LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE

OPENING IN CINEMAS ACROSS AUSTRALIA ON MARCH 27
WITH A SPECIAL Q&A SCREENING AT PALACE BYRON BAY CINEMA ON MARCH 28

Crocodile Dundee burst onto global screens and into the hearts of millions nearly 40 years ago, and is still Australia’s most successful film of all time. But little does anyone know, that behind this cultural icon was a cast and crew with largely no feature film experience, last-minute funding challenges, and an industry that never saw it coming.

During the search for the elements required for the 4K restoration of Crocodile Dundee (entitled Crocodile Dundee: The Encore Cut, opening in cinemas on May 8), a treasure trove of unseen archival material was uncovered from the collection of Crocodile Dundee co-creator John Cornell, the late husband of Australia’s beloved Delvene Delaney. Inspired by this discovery, Delvene and her friend and co-creator, Media Executive, Victoria Baldock, crafted LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE - a revealing and heartfelt documentary that invites audiences behind the scenes to witness the battles, breakthroughs, and unbelievable twists that made this lovable film a reality.

More than just a “making-of”, LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE is a testament to mateship, conviction, courage and commitment to a film that almost never happened, but went on to culturally define our country. LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE features never before seen footage and candid interviews with many who were an integral part of the origin story, including; Paul Hogan, Delvene Delaney, Linda Kozlowski, Peter Faiman (Director), Russell Boyd (Cinematographer), Ray Brown (Key Grip) and posthumously through compelling archival footage, John Cornell (Co-creator/Producer), David Gulpilil and John Mellion.

To celebrate the Australian release of LOVE OF AN ICON: THE LEGEND OF CROCODILE DUNDEE there will be a Special Q&A Screening with Delvene Delaney and Victoria Baldock at their local, Palace Byron Bay Cinema. Delvene and Victoria invite their wonderful community to join them.
