And this year, the markets are pulling out all the stops, with three show-stopping events in the lead up to New Year’s Eve.
It all begins on Saturday 28th December, with the Byron Twilight Market taking over Railway Park from 4pm to 9pm. The vibe will be electric, thanks to an array of local stalls, delicious eats and a live performance by Mark Easton. Known for his soulful blues and mastery of exotic instruments like the Morin Khuur, Easton brings a touch of the extraordinary to every set.
Next, on Sunday 29th December, the Byron Beachside Market transforms Dening Park at the Main Beach foreshore into a seaside sanctuary from 8am to 3pm. Here, you can wander among stalls featuring handcrafted treasures, sustainable products and stunning local artwork, all while enjoying live performances by Cinnamon Sun, Peter Hunt and Russ Jalakai. From Cinnamon Sun’s sun-soaked reggae vibes to Peter Hunt’s hypnotic fusion of Celtic, African and jazz influences, and Russ Jalakai’s soulful dub reggae grooves, it’s a musical lineup as diverse and inspiring as the market itself.
Finally, the Byron Twilight Market returns for a special New Year’s Eve edition on Tuesday 31st December, from 4pm to 9pm. This is where the magic happens. As the sun sets on 2024, the market becomes the perfect spot to gather, reflect and celebrate. Shop unique creations, grab a bite and soak in the laid-back Byron vibes before heading off to your midnight countdown.
