Nimbin Roots Festival Celebrates 10 Years of Music, Culture and Community
The beloved Nimbin Roots Festival, a vibrant celebration of original music and artistic expression, returns to the picturesque village of Nimbin from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October 2025, marking its 10th Anniversary with an unforgettable lineup and unique cultural experience.
Unlike the traditional large paddock festivals, the Nimbin Roots Festival takes over multiple venues throughout the village, inviting festivalgoers to wander the streets and immerse themselves in Nimbin’s colourful atmosphere. This intimate, multi-venue setup also ensures a comfortable, all-weather event, adding to the festival’s laid-back charm and accessibility.
Founded by ARIA finalist and renowned singer-songwriter Lou Bradley, the festival has become a cornerstone of Australia’s grassroots music scene. This year’s milestone event promises a stellar lineup featuring iconic Australian acts and emerging artists, including: Dragon, Dog Trumpet, The Audreys, Kingfisha, Mungo Fungo (Ben from Regurgitator), Wild Marmalade, Paul Greene, Emily Lubitz (Tinpan Orange), Calico, Women In Docs, Allison Forbes, Den Hanrahan, Joshua Lee Wright, The Golden Gaytimes, Sunday Lemonade, Mitch King, Thirst Trap, Lou Bradley, The Appointments, Toni Janke, Two Tears in a Bucket, Tripsitta, Miss Eileen & King Lear, The Mudflowers and The Tall Stories.
As well as these amazing performers, there will be Songwriters in the Round, Buskers, Workshops, Markets and the Peace and Love Parade!
As the cheeky sister to the upcoming Mullum Roots Festival (happening in July), the Nimbin Roots Festival is more than just music — it’s a cultural adventure. Alongside live performances, attendees can explore vibrant markets, take part in engaging workshops, and enjoy captivating street performers, all set against the stunning backdrop of Nimbin’s iconic village, renowned for its artistic heritage and environmentally conscious community.
Festival founder Lou Bradley expressed her excitement for both this year’s events, especially given the recent challenges facing the live music industry:
“In light of the current situation in the music industry where the festival giants are cancelling, we believe there’s no better time to stick to our ethos and keep offering small, quality, and unique music festivals. We want people to be able to afford a few days away, visit the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland, and have an experience like no other.”
With its heartfelt approach to music and community, the Nimbin Roots Festival invites music lovers to immerse themselves in genuine sounds and stories. Tickets are available now — don’t miss the chance to experience the soul of Nimbin and its incredible artistic spirit.
