Steel Pulse, one of reggae’s most iconic and influential bands, is set to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a highly anticipated three-show tour along Australia's east coast in early 2025. Known for their pioneering blend of roots reggae, punk, and rock, Steel Pulse has spent five decades creating socially conscious, empowering music that has inspired generations. From their timeless anthems like “Rally Round the Flag” and “Roller Skates” to their Grammy-winning album Babylon the Bandit, the band’s legacy remains as potent and relevant as ever.
Formed in 1975 in Birmingham, England, by David Hinds and Selwyn Brown, Steel Pulse emerged from the UK’s Windrush Generation, channeling their experiences of racial inequality and social justice into music. Over the years, they’ve shared stages with legends such as Bob Marley, Santana, and Bob Dylan, while touring the world and cementing their status as one of reggae’s most important voices.
